As a result of research by Professor Sylvie Belleville, director of the Quebec Aging Research Network, we now know that Alzheimer's disease is triggered years before it is diagnosed and we have tools for earlier detection. She has developed prevention programs that can delay cognitive decline in at-risk individuals by several years and her discoveries have led to more effective interventions against this neurodegenerative disease, which is prevalent around the world.

The aim of this Chair in the Faculty of Pharmacy is to provide pharmaceutical care that is tailored to the needs of the elderly and helps improve their quality of life.

This Chair works to establish and evaluate humanistic nursing interventions for vulnerable clients.
Montreal Heart Institute EPIC Centre
EPIC is the largest cardiovascular disease prevention centre in Canada. It also studies the link between physical fitness and cognitive health.
